SUCCEEDING IN MR JONES' SOCIAL STUDIES CLASS
First, it is my goal that all students learn more about the world in which they live. All to frequently, students are concerned about their grade without being worried about learning.
It is also my hope that students will become self reliant learners. They must take initiative and responsibility for their learning. Materials and information will be presented. The student must review and reread information presented to develop a better understanding of all material.
Lastly, I try to present the students with challenges they are likely to meet as they continue their education. Timed tests, reading for information, and inductive reasoning are ways to move students cognitive ability to the next level.
The following is a list of strategies that all students can use to remain on track in my class:
Students who do well in my classes are those who develop good time management skills, develop high level reading skills and take responsibility for their education.

- Complete all assignments
- Always read every section at least 2 times
- Review vocabulary daily
- Review notes daily
- Be aware that homework is not frequent. Review (study) instead.
- Be present. We do learn everyday.
